Yay, Pink Floyd.

But less cryptic postings would be appreciated by all, Caesar.

But, but... I thought double negatives were de rigueur for rock lyrics? As in the Rolling Stones' "I can't get no satisfaction."

What really makes me cringe is the double preposition in Paul McCartney's "Live and Let Die": "But in this ever-changing world in which we live in..." Urrrgh. James Bond wouldn't have made such an error.

Sir Paul makes me cringe full stop. Kewpie doll motherf***! And rock should never conform to grammar. It just wouldn't work.

As for The Wall, isn't it just one big Roger Waters wank? That wouldn't have happened if Syd Barrett had stayed sane! I was always glad that Roger pissed off up his own fundamental orifice of a solo career and left David Gilmour to it (even though our Dave has been re-hashing the same song for the last 20 years!)

Gilmour's guitar work is the shiznit, though. Icy tone, three note bends, makes your spine tingle. He and Carlos Santana are examples of guitarists you don't have to see to know who they are - you can tell them by their tone. That to me is a testament to guitar greatness.

But The Wall? There's better stuff in their back catalogue.

Maybe that was the point though. Perhaps it was designed to be ironic?

I could be wrong, though. Can't say I ever followed Mr. Floyd.

But I keep hearing one of his albums keeps perfect time with Wizard of Oz, I may have to try it someday.
