Thanks. DD: Not a reference but some content; Here's the first paragraph of Chapter IV "LETTERS" of CAESAR AND CHRIST (WILL DURANT), about 250 words. The whole Chapter is about 1750 words. PM me if you'd like it all in a PM sent to you. It is a broad description of education and it's represented by the following quote with notes: "The Roman was formed not only by the family, the religion, and the moral code, but, in less degree, by the school, the language, and the literature.
