Gaius Octavius
I am left to wonder what it cost to build and decorate then, and what it would translate into current dollars.

Gaius Paulinus Maximus
Culture Minister Francesco Rutelli said some 12 million euros ($17.59 million) would be devoted to the conservation of the site, an amount that some experts say is a third of what is needed every year. Money well spent I say! I'm hoping to go back to Rome again this Easter time (fingers crossed!) so I'll definitely make it a priority to check this out as well as the house of Livia which was closed when I was there earlier on this year.
