Ian Gilligan, a postgraduate researcher from the Australian National University, says his theory also explains why Aboriginal Australians were not generally farmers. Gilligan says they did not need fiber for clothing, so had no reason to grow crops like cotton. "We have just found another set of human and animal tracks. It looks like this was a rather popular area," Mietto told Discovery News. Currently the researchers have isolated about 100 prints, extending along six trails.
