Fire fishing is not really appropriate for them as they don't often move near the surface? Fishermen off Tunisia still use the tried and true method utilized all the way back in the Archaic by the Phoenicians (and by extension the Hebrews) & the Greeks... Clay pots are lowered by rope to the bottom in the evening and hauled up in the morning. Octopi crawl in there like it's a little cave. No bait other than the shelter is needed!
