DecimusCaesar
It might not be the most archaeologically rich Roman city in the world, but I always thought that the remains of Lepcis Magna (and other sites in Africa) were rather stunning. They are all well preserved, with large bathhouses, libraries, statues and mosaics. They must have been even more impressive in their hayday. Another site that will no doubt yeild much more archaeological treasures in the near future is the Roman underground. The Catacombs and the Cloaca Maxima run for some miles across Rome, and according to an article I read in National Geographic, many of those areas still remain to be properly searched. Pertinax
I would nominate Ercolano , as so little has emerged from the site in relation to what we know is buried. http://www.auav46.dsl.pipex.com/
