Moonlapse
The academic track is usually populated by the .. smarter types ... if you know what I mean, and these could benefit from a more classics centered education. The Bell Curve, eh? This may be accurate for a fixed and standardized system, which then makes it seem to me like circular reasoning. A statistical quantification of something like the human mind will always be subjective.
Vibius Tiberius Costa
Roman history is briefly touched upon in England but political correctness on Romans killing the french aka the gauls is unnacceptable now. Its all about the testudo and how much land belonged to the Romans (nothing Republican ) and gladiators. I thikn the real intimate sections of Roman poiltics should be in the curriculum and GCSE or HSC (I dont know the equivalent in the US or Canada) courses should go back to the Romans as well. I leave you with the comment on that Romans teachers taught their students about the Etruscans, Ancient Greece and Egypt (to a lesser extent). But we as a collective world now don't care about our history like they did. Hmmmmmmmmm. vtc ps killing the french is the ambition for most of the English Edited August 17, 2007 by Vibius Tiberius Costa
