Melvadius
Mediterranean rim correct but not south-west
ummidia quadratilla
Is it in Turkey?
Melvadius
Way too far east, the previous south-west guess was much closer [Edit - but a bit too far clockwise ].
Melvadius
Here is a bit more of a hint to the general area:
Aurelia
Could this be in Tunisia again? Or perhaps Algeria?

Maty
Tunisia it is Would these be some of the excavations at Cirta, then?
Melvadius
Err Maty I may be wrong but unless there are two I believe that the Cirta which was the capital of Numidia is actually in Algeria. On that basis you are several hundred miles too far to the west of where I am thinking of - hint it is near the coast of Tunisia.
Bryaxis Hecatee
would they be the remains at Kerkouane ?

ummidia quadratilla
I'm going to make a guess to get this thing going again. Is it Sbeitla?
Melvadius
You are still about a hundred miles inland of this site. You need to go further east and slightly north. Another clue is that it had an unlikely (in some ways suprising) part to play in the later stages of Hannibal's fight against the Romans when he returned to Africa. Melvadius
You are now very warm but need to look a few miles further to the south east.
