Pantagathus
Here we go: Looks like the base of a Punic mausoleum so I'll say Carthage-Tunisia?
Klingan
Looks like the base of a Punic mausoleum so I'll say Carthage-Tunisia? Nope, and it's not a mausoleum, maybe I made it a little too difficult =/ Edited March 22, 2007 by Klingan

Mosquito
Rome? Naples? Syracuse? Nope. The problem is that this type of ruins one may find from Spain to Syria, everywhere around mediterenian sea. I think there is even one in Rome looking similar to this one altough I dont remember if Iv seen in on the forum or somwhere else. Im more than sure to have seen at least 10 similar to yours Klingan. Is it really somthing unique?

Is it really somthing unique? I've only seen on picture of something like this, and I've been going through quite a few books on antique architecture and art the last year. I thought it was special and it caught my interest. The same building, just another angel of it. Unless someone finds out what it is I guess I'll pick an easier one so that we can keep on going. M. Porcius Cato
Is it from Tripoli, Septimius Severus' hometown in northern Africa?
Klingan
Nope, but you are in the right time frame. It's an Serverian building.
Maladict
It's not a bad thing if it's too hard. Try giving us a hint instead of posting a new picture. It looks like an inverted version of the nymphaeum at Jerash, but that's no help.
Gaius Octavius
Because of the trees, I think that it is Italy. Ostia? Nola? Edited March 22, 2007 by Gaius Octavius
Mosquito
Well, on the ground of architecture I afraid that Im a complete ignorant. I can tell the difference between circus and aqueduct or temple but thats all.
