Gaius Octavius
It shouldn't cause any more damage than whats already occurring, it should just eliminate the situation causing the crashes - specifically, corrupted virtual memory on the hard drive. Doesn't running Norton/Symantec take care of that?
Moonlapse
Doesn't running Norton/Symantec take care of that? Norton can't prevent/cure hardware specific errors, the problem is similar to putting a malfunctioning stick of memory into your computer. BTW, did you try out different burning software? Gaius Octavius
BTW, did you try out different burning software? Not yet, but will let you know the results. I won't be playing with the computer (nor be on the forum) much in the next few weeks, as I have some business to attend to.
Lost_Warrior
I disabled page file and ran a dskchk on drive D. It froze on the dskchk. I rebooted, it ran dskchk again normally this time, and restarted normally.
