Ursus
Who is your favroite deity from the Roman pantheon, and why?
Viggen
Hello Ursus and welcom on board Mars is my choice, afterall the month i am born is named after him!
Primus Pilus
For Reference... Roman Mythology My favorite are the Dia Lucrii... the gods of profit =P Actually if I had to pick one, I think it would be Vulcan - God of Fire, Blacksmiths and Craftsmanship. Sort of a working man's deity I suppose.
Domitianus
I would choose Vulcan as well. For a god, he always seemed to be more human than the other major gods... to me at least. Basically the only imperfect major god out there, being lame and whatnot...
journaldan
I guess I would go along with your comments re: Vulcan. Plus they have those really cool mind melds. I wonder what the psychology was being the creation of a god that was lame?
Ursus
Hello Ursus and welcom on board Mars is my choice, afterall the month i am born is named after him! Thanks for the Welcome. :-) Mars is certainly the most Roman of the gods, in my opinion. The Intellectual and artistic side of me prefers Minerva, though. And Mercury is a god with many useful provinces....
Valens
I'd choose Bacchus, the God of Wine. He must have one heck of a wine cellar .

pompeius magnus
Now i have not yet started my study of Roman Mythology, so am not as knowledgable as some others. I would choose the Fortuna, the goddess of luck. If Sulla and Caesar could live by her, it is good enough for me.
Primus Pilus
Hard to argue that I suppose. Though I think both men made their own 'luck'. =P
Ursus
Sulla and Caesar both claimed Venus as a patron (In Caesar's case, as an ancestor). Both men were infamous for their sexual proclivities. Venus, as Venus Felix, was thought a giver of good fortune to her favorites.

Primus Pilus
My favourite gid is Marte (roman adaption of the greek Ares), god of war... Welcome to the forum Olympia! Its certainly hard to argue with any of the 10 gods with planets named after them
Guest Bellona
Argh! This is hard. Of course, Bellona has some interesting rituals attached to her. But I'd have to say Minerva is my favorite.
Zeke
Venus is my Patron Goddess and my favorite. Though I think the Celtic God Belnus and the Celtic Goddess of horses Epona.......are also wonderful, both adopted by the Romans.
