Kousoulas inveigles the line between history and historical fiction in his The Life and Times of Constantine The Great. I think Ursus' review has finally persuaded me to take the plunge and learn about Constantine. I have to confess to never being really interested in him before, probably due to the picture painted of him - as Ursus says - in Christian folklore. To write history in the way Kousoulas has, would probably serve as a good introduction and I could make my mind up from there whether or not to study Constantine further.
