Impressive to see all the armoured Saxons and Normans fighting against each other. I think it was the biggest event of its type ever made. longbow Posted October 17, 2006 Report Share Posted October 17, 2006 (edited) LOL A friend (Aelfric) was on the left wing fighting against some Normans from Germany! We battered them all day, driving them back down the hill several times. At the end when we all had to die we launched a swine array (wedge) and charged the Norman line, we smashed straight through, I cut down their standard bearer took his banner and was cut down in a blaze of glory brandishing one of the enemy standards , absolutely awesome He said it was the greatest reenactment he's every been involved in,im definetly going to go down next year,it sounds like a great day out!
