Guest o-r-i-g-i-n-a-l
Hey guys, nice forum you have here. I was wondering if you could help me out. I remember hearing a quote made by (I believe) a Roman. It was all about how the young people are corrupt and useless, and will lead to the downfall of society. L. Quintus Sertorius
I'm not sure about that one, but I remember a Polybios quote that reads something like this: "The welfare of the Roman state is based on ancient traditions, and the men who uphold them." floppybelly
Well I remember a line from my favorite movie, A Hard Day's Night, that very well may have been a parody of what you're looking for. "He's sex-obsessed. The older generation are leading the country into galloping ruin." I duno if that helped or not. Just my 2c worth. miguel
Is it in Greek or Latin or else? A proverb, or is it from a book, movie or some historical sources?
Lucius Apuleius
The only one I can think of is Cicero's quote: Times are bad. Children no longer obey their parents, and everyone is writing a book. It's one of my favorites. Nothing changes. Society is society.... It seems familiar somehow, your quote. I'll look more....
