Viggen
New excavations have shown that romans have used "Gurina" as the first capital of Noricum territory. From 16 BC to 14 AD this was most probably the first "capital" of the new "conquered" area... It also suggests that the transition wasn`t all that peacefull but the celtic inhabitants were basically thrown out of the existing celtic village and were replaced by native Romans... The period can be traced so exact because of the very distinct footwear that had special crosses and stripes at the shoe sole. That were specially made for this winter campaign in the alps... unfortunately there is no english news for this here the link to a german site (translated by google)
