Thrice Nay Sirrah, I am the Subject of Her Most Excellent Majesty , Queen Elizabeth the Second. God Save the Queen!

sundry "huzzahs" and gorging of foods and expensive wines, smashing of furniture and such.

Do I detect another thread about to go into Absurdist Mode? Or are we all Situationalists here?

Just asked a simple question for my edification. :D No need to go into hysterics, old boy. :P

"Yankees" was I think a Native American mispronounciation of the french word "Anglais", which ofcourse means "English"!

First...what about those of us from the Left Coast? We need representation, too, dammit. We're not Yankees, nor Rebels...we're golden, dude ;)

Second...because of the heat (it's actually going to be about 90'F here, just south of San Francisco!), I feel a pitcher of sangria coming on. Beer would be great, but seeing as I'm the only one to drink it...eh, I'm in a giving mood.

May I mention that if you switch to the "Brewery and Brewery Pubs menu " on the TNOG site , then scroll down to "Twice Brewed ", here is a possible centre for an excursion along Hadrian's Wall

I have been moved to post a small item regarding "Gonzo Imperial Porter" ( with prestigious embellishment and editing by the learned Pantagathus) ,perhaps this should be our "mascot" beer?

I thought Gulden Draak already was? :romansoldier:

So many beers....so difficult a moral choice....

I suggest we have a long term testing programme to determine a hierarchy of acceptable Romanophile vine and grain beverages.About 10 years, with consumption by a panel of specially selected persons, should give us a statistically useful database, and we would be performing a valuable service to both learning and culture.

While on vacation around Letchworth, NY I discovered two beers previously unknown to me. (ahh the joys of small breweries).

Saranac Black Forest is a dark and robust black bavarian style beer. Damn good stuff!

I wasn't quite as impressed by Yuengling's Traditional Amber but it was quite good. Since it also has the distinction of apparantly being America's oldest brewery it is certainly worth a taste.
