You probably mean "In medio stat virtus" It means that "virtue is in the middle", in a few words that it is better to use moderation. Horace said something similar, "est modus in rebus". This expression became "popular" in medieval times though, with the scolastic philosophy, perhaps it originated in the Middle Ages since "virtus" here has a different meaning from the "classic" one.
