Primus Pilus Posted April 2, 2004 Report Share Posted April 2, 2004 Interesting, but if crossing the Rubicon was not a big deal, then why did Caesar's rivals, Cicero, Cato, Pompeius, etc. make a big deal about it. There is evidence in ancient literature. They wouldn't have gone to civil war because Caesar conquered a restless tribe, it only occured because he crossed the Rubicon with the full intention of descending upon Rome.
