I'm having trouble finding whether the Romans had their own names for the Muses or just used their Greek names. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Ursus Posted March 15, 2006 Report Share Posted March 15, 2006 There was a temple to "Hercules of the Muses" in Rome. Strange that Hercules would be connected to the Muses ... But that's all I can find. To the extent that the Romans acknowledged the Muses, they seem to be borrowed wholesale from the Greeks.
