Emperor Goblinus
I was wondering if for the Byzantine Empire, there was ever a time of unprecedented peace and prosperity like the Pax Romana. From what I've read, the Byzantines were almost always at war with somebody, but I could be wrong.

Emperor Goblinus
True, but for more than a hundred years, those wars were not terribly taxing or threatening, except for the year 69. Did the Byzantines ever enjoy something like that?
Honorius
i dont think they ever did but considering the fact they were on 2 continents they were probably nearly always in war...
Tobias
I think "Pax Byzantia" sounds better .... As for a period similar to the Pax Romana, there was very little of that . As was said above, the Empire was always at war, always in danger of losing territory and often suffering setbacks. Even after the "glorious" period of Basil II (Perhaps the closest to a Pax Byzantia you'd get), it didn't take long for the situation to deteriorate.
