Lost_Warrior
Julius Caesar has had several food items named after him (although two of these are companies, one, Orange Julius has become almost synonymous with an orange fruit slush drink, no matter who makes it or what the exact recipe is) So how exactly do things like "Caesar salad" get their names? What does Caesar have to do with salad, if anything? And why are food items named after him and not others? (I've never heard of a Roosevelt burger, for instance). Even "kaiser rolls" are indirectly named after Caesar as the title "kaiser" is derived from the ancient latin "Caesar". Just some "food" for thought (pun intended...yea I know it was bad...) Ursus
"I come not to praise Caesar, but to name a salad after him." Marc Antony, at Caesar's funeral speech. At least according to some bizarre '90's cartoon I once watched.

Q Valerius Scerio
Caesar Cardini invented the salad in 1924. So it's not related to Julius Caesar.
