WotWotius
Er I am a university lecturer (not saying where then I can say what I like about my job) part-time at the moment, completing my PhD. I specialise in Republican politics. Tragic isn't it really, in my free internet time what am I doing? I am here immersed back in the forum. Currently marking first year essays....sigh Come on, tell us where you teach. I'm curious to know because I have just applied for a degree in Ancient History and Archaeology, and was wondering whether you teach at any of the places I have applied for. Tobias
Ah well, no match for me anyways... Don't be too sure Sextus; i was quite secure in my knowledge that the up and coming Flavius Valerius Constantinus would not catch me in my post count. He showed me a thing or two lol

I was in the runnin with him for a while since we joined about the same time, but he took off. And his post count is inexplicably high. As for futurehistorian, I welcome the challenge. Spurius
Ah, back when I was 35, (*cue music*) "It was a very good year...." (/music: for sanity of others) I only counted one other person in the post 40 Club...any others? In really real life: I'm a bureaucrat and bean counter at the Ohio State University (Treasurer's Office). I have a degree in Journalism and another in History (Islamic emphasis, not Rome, alas). I cooperate and contribute to several projects and groups concerned with the teaching of history. And I have used this site as an example of where several different age groups can contribute with low friction and good standards. Keep up the good work all of you. Onasander
Hey Spurius, did you know a Father Daniel (first greek orthodox from Indonesia? He was going to school there for a while, I used to visit him occasionally in Columbus (I lived in the northern panhandle of West Virginia, used to volunteer for digs at Steubenville and Reed's Mill. Ya, Arctic Airborne Infantry, though I'm working in supply right now on account of my knee. I'm putting together material for deep arctic operations (got the inner liner to a 10-man tent and plenty of poles and ropes, need to buy or locate the outer flap and stove, and I'll have the complete set! Ahkios cost about $300, and if I get my flight license, I'll be unstoppable.... any dig in the north would want me onboard.... remember the Iceman find, well....... that's something I'ld be first on the list for, though I really hate the cold. Iran sounds more to my liking. I don't plan on making archeology a career though, just my profession. I need to find money elsewhere. (does Ohio state have a masters program in archeology? I was thinking about just getting a BA at the University of Anchorage (half their history books being sold deal with the roman empire, he he he!) I saw Black Sabbath when Ozzy was on his last legs as lead singer, I actually watched the "Gong Show", think the original SNL is the best and, though not in high school at the time, vividly remember watching Cronkite commenting as the last choppers left the US Embassy in Saigon. In other words, yeah, I'm in that club.
