Viggen
Egypt will send a robot up narrow shafts in the Great Pyramid to try to solve one of the mysteries of the 4,500-year-old pharaonic mausoleum, Egypt's top archaeologist said on Monday. Zahi Hawass told Reuters he would this week inspect a robot designed to climb the two narrow shafts which might lead to an undiscovered burial chamber in the pyramid of Cheops at Giza, on the outskirts of Cairo. full article at Yahoo News
Favonius Cornelius
This is some hot stuff. I remember the first time they probed the first door. Hope they don't find just a wall of sand. Any idea what they plan on doing if 1. they find more tunnel or 2. they find his tomb full of stuff. How does one get there?!

Sextus Roscius
I'm glad they finaly took up the challenge and did it. I remember watching a show when I was about 7 or 8 years old that spent part of it talking about the mysterious shafts and their purposes. I've always had it stored in the back of my mind wondering what WAS up there. Thanks, I wouldn't have found out most likely had you not told us.
