guy
London's first basilica, dating back to AD 80, was discovered during excavations at the site of a recently demolished office building. It is believed that the basilica was in use for only about 20 years. Quote According to Ms. Jackson, "The wall is made from a type of limestone from Kent and formed an imposing structure. The basilica would have measured approximately 40 meters long, 20 meters wide, and 12 meters high." The basilica was part of London's forum, a social and commercial hub that featured a courtyard roughly the size of a football pitch. "The basilica served as the town hall, and in front of it was a large open market square, surrounded by a variety of shops and offices," she explained. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cx2jdnv0ywyo Edited February 13 by guy
