FLavius Valerius Constantinus
I really like Caesar, but Trajan I would have to say because he managed not to get himself assassinated and got everyone to like him.
Cyrus
I think Caesar was a better politician and a general, but Trajan was an excellent conqueror. While Caesar conquered Gaul the Roman way,
Germanicus
Caesar hands down. Imagine Caesar had actually been in Trajans position ? Succeeding Nerva as an actual Emperor with no one to challenge him and his god given authority ? He may well have conquered the world, not just Dacia. Hamilcar Barca
Yes, what Germanicus said. Caesar was a more savy and brilliant general/politician than Trajan. Not to say that Trajan wasn't one of Romes most accomplished Emperors, he was, but seriously you cannot compare the two. Just ask the mainstream idiots who nothing about history, who do people recall out of the two? Sure Caesar found himself on the wrong end of many daggers after his dictator for life fiasco, but still, his acomplishments and influence upon western history are quite frankly mindboggling. It's hard to say who was a better politician cause Ceasar had to win the power in the battlefield facing hard enemies while Trajan inherited it. As generals they were different, but Ceasar cannot be matched, I have always tought for istance that with a smaller army than the ones commanded both by Trajan and Settimius Severus, the master of the siege (Ceasar in Erik Durschmied words) wouldn't have failed in the siege of Hatra and thus would have defeated the Parthians once and for all, as he was planning in order to avenge the defeat of the roman army and the brutal slaughter of Crassus.
