Haul of Roman Republic coins found near Sicily

A collection of 27 coins from the Roman Republic have been discovered on the island of Pantelleria, located between Sicily and Tunisia. These coins date back to the period from 94 to 74 BCE.

The island of Pantelleria is located in the Mediterranean Sea, in the Strait of Sicily, and covers an area of 33 square miles (84.5 square kilometers).
