Excavation works in Salini Road Naxxar, by workers of the Water Services Corporation, have led to an archaeological find considered to be of great importance. This discovery of a pottery object from the Roman period was made when the workers were cutting a trench along the road to extend the water services.

The artefacts found include a large open bowl, a cooking pot with a lid, a small plate, and a jug and these were said to have been placed in the trench in a very meticulous manner. The Superintendence said that it is not normal for these objects to be found in such trenches and the reason for which they were placed in this trench is still unknown.
