This is a nice statuette now on display at the Museum of Gloucester for the first time. It was found recently during a shopping center development.

A Roman figurine dug up as part of the King’s Walk development earlier this year is to go on display. The Museum of Gloucester has said it is excited to be able to share this beautiful relic with the general public for the first time.

Thought to date from the first or second century AD, it is around 1800-1900 years old. The statuette depicts the goddess Venus and is made of pipeclay, hailing made in Gaul.
