guy
A nice review article of the Greek historian Herodotus (485-425 BCE). Quote “Both ancient and modern critics claim that Herodotus' reporting is unreliable. The ancient geographer Strabo (63 B.C.-A.D. 23) complained that there is "much nonsense in Herodotus.” In addition, while the Roman politician and orator Marcus Tullius Cicero (106 B.C.-43 B.C.) named Herodotus the "father of history," Cicero also said there were many tall tales in his work.” https://www.livescience.com/who-was-herodotus A nice introductory review on Herodotus: Edited February 2 by guy
Novosedoff
I once read the translation of some excerpts attributed to Herodotus. To me it all sounded as naive nonsense from someone very gullible and barely critical. He must have been very young at the time of writing .. 🙂
