Onasander
http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/syrian-army-advances-west-of-isil-controlled-palmyra--.aspx?pageID=517&nID=84347&NewsCatID=352 Assad's Army moves to retake oil fields around Palmyra back from ISIS. Means Palmyra is unlikely to be taken, just the oil supply, turning Palmyra into a permanent front line battlefield. So, ummm..... this is 50 times worst than ISIS storming the site from a archeological perspective, as they now have cause to entrench and lay mine after mine after mine all over the area, for who knows how long. They dig.... they destroy and find stuff to sell. Mortars will be traded.... goats will set stuff off. Don't expect any digs to resume for decades.
