barca
Is anyone familiar with this organization? They're having an annual meeting in January 2015. http://apaclassics.org/annual-meeting/146/146th-annual-meeting Edited December 27, 2014 by barca
guy
Interesting meeting. (I really wouldn't want to go to New Orleans in January, however.) I've seen a copy of the magazine "Amphora," which I believe the organization sponsors. It appeared to be a fine enough magazine. http://apaclassics.org/sites/default/files/ckfinderfiles/Amphora_Spring2014.pdf That said, if they held conferences in Las Vegas.... guy also known as gaius Edited January 3, 2015 by guy
barca
Why wouldn't you want to go to NO?
Onasander
High homicide and crime rate, and spontaneous risk the entire city might flood.... it's below sea level.
GhostOfClayton
I would really love to go to NO. Homicide and crime not an issue - sensible precautions can always be taken (though there are some areas of the southern US I wouldn't feel comfortable (probably irrational). It would presumably be considerably warmer than Lincolnshire in January. I bet you can't guess where I am at the moment.
guy
I've been to New Orleans a few times. Great food. Fun music. Interesting night life. Just don't wonder off alone too much in the seedier parts of town late at night. The problem for me is that I have only so many vacation days. New Orleans is not on the top of my list of places to go. An interesting scene of New Orleans: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRLucEmfNCQ Honestly, New Orleans and the state of Louisiana have more of a Caribbean feel than anything. guy also known as gaius Edited January 7, 2015 by guy
