My name is Jonathan and I wanted to ask if anyone here can tell me who is the Roman (or Greek?) figure in this miniature statue? I'll add pictures below. In addition, there is something written that I couldn't make sense of. I'll add a picture of the inscription as well and maybe some here will have a clue what it means. Is there no way you could upload the pictures as an attachment? If you click on "More reply options" at the bottom you'll see the option to attach a file on the bottom left. Bryaxis Hecatee Posted August 24, 2014 Report Share Posted August 24, 2014 The inscription is in greek and says "Hermes" (ERMHS), the greek name of the god Mercury. I don't think I ever saw the exact type which inspired this copy, but it seems a bit like the "Hermes and the Infant Dionysos" from Olympia (cf. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermes_and_the_Infant_Dionysus ) 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
