barca
Is there anything else I should focus on? Every tips/help is apprichiated and feel free to criticize my plan. Any form of critic is good critic:) Regards Cristofer Andersson don.crisse@gmail.com I would go back further to the Battle of Allia and the reforms of Camillus, which was the beginning of the reorganization of the Roman Army. Melvadius
I would definately include A Companion to the Roman Army by Paul Erdkamp in your reading list since it includes several very good essays with recent academic theories and research over this period. I would also suggest including Lawrence Keppie's The Making of the Roman Army: from Republic to Empire.
Pompieus
Thre's a lot of stuff on orgsanization, deployment and numbers of the republican army in P. A. Brunt's "Italian Manpower". Of course there's Livy, Polybius and Appian too. Edited September 24, 2012 by Pompieus
