robbie82lv Posted January 18, 2012 Report Share Posted January 18, 2012 I picked out a design and motto for my next tattoo and was wondering if anyone would be so kind as to verify, and if need be make the proper corrections to the latin on the design? Design is the Roman Eagle with the SPQR and Larel Wreath. Top will read: VIRTUS HONOR ET FIDELITAS. If I'm correctly informed this will read STRENGTH HONOR AND LOYALTY. Bottom will read VSQVE AD FINEM or TO THE BITTER END. I'd hate to end up with a poorly translated permanent tattoo :-/ If any one could offer some advice I'd greatly appreciate it. Also I know the bottom is done in proper Roman Latin Script to get the top done in the same way I'd need a point in the proper direction to do so. My knowledge of Latin is limited, but usque ad finem I believe means 'until the end' rather than 'bitter end'.
