careyfree
Does anyone know where I can find (online, preferred) some diagrams and analysis of battles throughout Roman history? Right now, I'm stumped.
Primus Pilus
You'll likely need to search for such things specifically by name. We have a list of many major battles on several pages... starting here. Armed with some appropriate battle names you may have better luck finding maps and diagrams. Scaevola
The West Point Military History series has some good basic diagrams in their "Ancient and Medieval Warfare". Most of the major battles have maps on-line. Use Google image search and web search. Good hunting!
Jimbow
Check out 'Warfare in the Classical World' by John Warry. ISBN 0 86101 034 5 It has Zamma, Cannae, Pharsalus, Argentoratum, Boudica's Revolt, Idistaviso, Carrhae, Cynoscephalae. Not sure if they're in the detail you want. Jim. Hamilcar Barca
You can also make your own diagrams by reviewing the army deployments as described in the original texts by Livy, Polybius, Appian etc
