sonic
Ok, so I've got my 'mainstream' musical preferences (Metal and Rock), but then there's the odd ...... oddity! Does anybody else have this strange compulsion to listen 'outside the box', or is it just me?? Edited April 22, 2011 by sonic
Ursus
I listen to mostly classical, actually. Sometimes New Age or Neofolk. What can I say, I like soft music after a hard day's work. I can listen to more popular stuff (anything from Zepplin to Madonna) but I'm not a die hard fan like most people.
Kosmo
Wow, that was different. I have nothing so spectacular but in the last few days I left my usual rock/metal pasture, after a massive dose of The Kills, to discover the ye ye girls (that millions of people know very well so it is not really odd but it is new for me)
Kosmo
I'm adding also something that some may find unusual
Medusa
I follow sonic that my mainstream musical tastes are rock and metal. I recently discovered a more or less unknown 70s band which good though: Rumplestiltskin! They sound like a mixture of Led Zepp and Deep Purple kind of... GhostOfClayton
I spent the latter few of my formative years in the bleak and blustery wastes of the far, far north of England, in which the Geordie, and the Maccam peoples eke out a fragile existence, and call a home. It was here, among these hardy folk, that I first heard some of their magical and enchanting musical strains: . . . NoJobRob
Hey, I'm a metalhead too. Mr. Bungle and The Dead Milkmen are pretty strange... not exactly radio friendly, but cool/funny. LOL
Metella
Rock / Metal for me too - but due to my own odd placement in the world when growing up - I have my moments of running my crooner playlist: Dean Martin and company. I also have a tango section on my iPod.

Aurelia
Other than mainstream rock and metal (and occasionally pop, especially from the 80s), I'm into classical music, Jazz, Folk, Salsa, African and Brazilian music. This band is from Bahia, in the Northeast of Brazil. The song itself is great (have it in my iPod) but I guess the lead singer would qualify as odd.
