Corax
I hope this is the right forum for this query! All being well, I plan to go to Cologne for a few days next month. I understand that there is a Temple of Mithras at a place called Brebach Heidenkapelle which is apparently near Saabrucken. There is not much about it on the internet so I wondered if anyone had been there and could let me know if it is worth a visit? Also, is it possible to get there from Cologne by public transport? Thanks for any help! Corax
Macerinus
Also, is it possible to get there from Cologne by public transport? Corax I can't say if it's worth a visit, never been there or heard about it... But there is a train connection that will bring you there in 3 to 4 hours. http://www.bahn.de/p/view/index.shtml Cheers, Macerinus
Bryaxis Hecatee
I'm not sure of how interesting Saarbrucken and it's area might be for a lover of ancient Rome, but http://www.megalithic.co.uk/article.php?sid=26683 might help you with that. But if you're in K

Corax
Thank you to everyone for your very useful suggestions. The trains website is excellent. It does look to be a very long journey so I may well go for the Trier option instead. I did not realise there was quite so much Roman stuff there! Thanks again. Viggen
..if you make it to Trier then you should also go to Mainz, its really a good museum. There exhibitions cover starting from the stone age to medieval times, have an ancient seafaring museum and are also one of the most important research facilities for our topic http://web.rgzm.de/35.html?&L=1 It is about 2 hours by train from Trier, for more roman stuff in mainz here are two website (in german but just auto translate) http://www.roemisches-mainz.de/ and Theatrum Mogontiacensium http://www.theatrum-mainz.de/
