Would you be willing to help sponser a dig if it meant finding a new roman site!

Apparently, there are numerous Roman sites along the Welsh/ English border that are waiting to be discovered, but due to lack of funding by the state and otherwise, they remain a mystery, which is a great shame!

If a prospective site required donations, would you give ?

I would be willing to sell my entire coin collection plus artefacts to help out with financing, maybe, a thought would be for interested site users to form a "club" and carry out our own archelogical dig!

I am convinced there is more to a marching camp found near a village called Lianymynech, south-west of Oswestry, but alas the site covers an area which apparently takes in private land and the farm-owner is reluctent about allowing a dig!

Anyway, if anyone has some free time at the week-ends and fancies roaming the Welsh Marshes with a metal detector and spade etc then let it be known

Weather permitting I go most week-ends, and usually visit Roman sites but would love to be involved in a dig!

yes, PP its popular here, I may at some stage have a go!

I would like to use private land as there is more chance of a find and I have a few areas I would like to use, going off sketchy references in my Roman books and using O/S maps I have pinpointed some likely locations!

In my job, I was on a site in Manchester City Centre and watched foundations being dug out and the workman came across quite a number of Victorian type bottles!
