Melvadius Posted November 16, 2010 Report Share Posted November 16, 2010 The Daily Mail carries a report with some good photographs on the excavations in Syon Park which have uncovered extensive remains of a Romano-British settlement as well as some late Bronze-Age and other periods material. The remains of an ancient Roman village has been unearthed in west London, thanks to the Waldorf Astoria hotel. Plans to build a new hotel on the site in Syon Park led to the discovery of human remains, 11,500 fragments of pottery, 100 coins and jewellery which were buried half a metre below ground.
