guy
What is a "banker's mark"? Banker's marks were used by people to assess the authenticity and purity of a precious metal coin thought possibly to be a forgery. These were test cuts into the coin's surface. Although they were usually shallow, they would permanently damage the coin (and diminish its numismatic value for future generations) . guy also known as gaius
