  1. Sure, Christianity has it quirks with humanitairim I don't really doubt that. But their religious intolerance towards other faiths isn't humane at all. Polythestic Faiths don't teach brotherhood or loving for all because its not about that, it's a contract between man and the gods not loving contract more like business contract And the Romans though they murdered many peoples they are the reason why the world is civilized to begin with. It's call a law and the Romans had the best and they dictaded the morals in a society and the rules that governed the people, unlike the ten commandments, which governed the middle ages, which was far more primitive then Roman Law. The Romans and the Greeks are the reasons why the world has law, morals and virtues, Christianity has something to do with it but I still think we get more from Roman Soceity..... The American Constituion is based off several areas of Roman and Greek law Zeke
  2. Elysium.....all the souls of the good and virtious went to Elyisum. All who displeased the gods were sent to the fiery pit of Tarsus....Heaven and Hell. lol, almost all the religions are the same when in comes to the concept of paradise and hell. Zeke
  3. Hello, We have many unqiue and intresting religions here....and they all have different afterlives, What is Paradise for your religion? What does it look like, how do you think it will feel? Will there be sounds, describe it to us... This discusion is prurly philohpshy, were not saying there is such a thing as the afterlife, let us just here you prespesctive of the afterlife. Zeke
  4. Here, here Fafnir that was good, may John Paul rest in peace in his afterlife, (right next to Vahalla, Tirn'na'nog and Elyisum.) Zeke
  5. We will see what the gods have in store for Pope John Paul, good man. Zeke

  7. I am an American and today are Civil War is still talked about Constantly..... The Southerns versus the Northerns, one supporting slavery the other not....the Northerns win and we don't have slaves anymore. But still today Southners hold a deep resenment toward the North, they always vote differently in the elections. Most of the North voted for John Kerry, most of the South voted for George Bush. Zeke
  8. yeah I think he was...... There are two types of "Cults" one is an ancient religious cult were people worshiped a deity and were really intune with it and were avtive members of a community. In my opinions all religions are cults not just Polythestic ones! The second types of cults....is the newly invetented concept of a "CULT" when most people think of cults they think of the ones that were invented in the 1970s....that are dangerous to soceity.....the "People's Temple" was a great example of a modern day dangerous non religious cult. It started out in 1959 by Jim Jones who was a Christian preacher at the time. In the begining it seemed like a normal happy, good, Christian thing....it helped people and provivded service for poor people in L.A. But then it began to become an accual cult, it used brainwashing teqniques to make its victims think they was heaven on Earth with the people's temple. It soon became so cultish that they didn't worship anybody but Jim Jones himself. Jim Jones did false miracles, and gained more converts by being really nice to everyone and love boming his members. Soon the U.S goverment found all about it's cult activities and Jim Jones was forced moved it in 1978.......they went to Guyana in South America and built "JonesTown" out of scratch.....the cult began to lock people up and force people to work.....Jim Jones promised eternal bliss in the afterlife and began experimenting with ways to kill things.......that is a very bad sigh.... Then Jim Jones hired an army of South American Mercnaries to make sure no one tryed to escape from the cult. A US senator by the name of Leo Ryan heard about this disturbing behavior and went down to South American to try to investigate......he found everyone "Pretending to be happy." The cult had gone beyond the extrme and Leo Ryan knew this so he trys to get some cult members out....but as he is boarding the plane with some of the people of the cult....Jims Jones's army opens fire and kills Leo and some of his family. Knowing it is almost the end...and the Gyuanan army and U.S Special Forces are the closing in, the sucidcial Jim Jones makes every cult memeber in Jonestown commit sucidie....either by telling them to do so or FORCInG THEM. On August 4th 1979......918 bodies were found at Jonestown all from a mass sucide using sinide fruitpunch or getting beaten to death by Jim's Jones army. Jim Jones himself is apprently killed by one of the last surving cultish members who was like the only woman to survive the horrying sucide. That is an example of a non-religious cult that is verry dangerous......The Cult of Isis or Mithras are totattly different from the horrible sucidal cults that are still around today. There are hundreds of physcos like Jim Jones living in the U.S alone. I think Charles Manson was in one of those death cults. I support cults that are of ancient religions...like Demeter or Mithras or something but I don't support ones where you all dress in white and worship "Ms Jane" who makes the wonderful jam and is going to bring you to happy valley.....and my name isn't Zeke anymore its Craig that kinda crap lol. Anyway that is my explmation between.....Anceint Religious CUlts and sucidal modern day ones. Zeke
  9. Do you think Vespasian made a good emperor, if so why was he such a good emperor? Or do you think Vespasian was a bad emperor, if so why was he a bad emperor? Zeke
  10. I know that Egypitians gods and goddess came home when the Legions returned from Egypt, the most prominant being Isis. But what other Gods and goddess of the land of the Pharaohs came home with them? Anubis? Osiris? And how were these gods worshiped in the Imperial System? Did they have Roman Rituals or Egptian Rituals? Zeke
  11. Well I live in the United States, state of Hawaii. My home town (though I don't live there anymore) is called Haiku. Like the Jappense Poem. The town has probably been around since the 1840s and started out as a pineapple planatation back in the days of the Hawaiin Monarchy. It was once a booming town in the 1930s but now its just really run down and over run with Hippies. There are three small convience stores a video store and lots of juggle. Basically the town is spread out over an area of 5 miles and half of it is a Native Hawaiin slum. I lived on the outskirts of the town in an Plantation house and I owned 16 acers, my family were chicken farmers. Zeke
  12. Military affairs was once a big one for me, but now it's been replaced by Roman Religion and I like to know how the goverment works, I perfer the Imperial Age to the Republican era. I speclize in: Roman Religio Hannibal period of the second Punic War Caeser and some of his civil wars and battles The era from Constatine the Great 307 A.D to Theodeosius 394 A.D. (esspcially the last Pagan Emperor Julian) Basically I am still preety illiterate on the Roman Empire but I can help anyone with the abouve topics. Zeke
  13. Well latter Emperors did...if I am not mistaken. Zeke

  19. Favorite battle in world history: Got to be Little Big Horn, classical battle where the oppresed (Native Americans) rise up in deffiance and smash the overconfident forces of the aggresor (US army under George Custer) Worst Battle in World History:Would have to be, Gettyburg.......Even though I don't support the Southerns, Robert E.Lee and his army was so epic and then it was defeted and it was just a sad defeat for the Southern army and destroyed their hopes of winning the war. Best Roman Battle would have to be.......Battle of Zama was by far the best Roman Victory because they destoryed their only major threat. It was like world war 2 of the ancient world. Zeke
  20. but yeah...Chariots in Rome wern't use very much cause as Skenderburg said they were clunky and not very effective, I mean you can't really turn one when you are charging at an enemy and you can let is pass through you lines, lol Zeke
