Possibly, personaly I think it is another way to monitor whats going on, and the gov't doesn't need best in the world hackers (not doubting that they've got them) if they have a legitiment reason they can bring it to the courts who can order the company to surrender info.

Thanks to Ciceros young prode'ge Caelius, the plot was discovered! Still failed though, Cataline got his rear beaten by the army of the Senate.

I've scoured my mind for reasoning, none to be found. Looked to different philosophies, nothing to help me. Finaly I resorted to seeing what they actually say in health class, not too much help either. I can't figure it out with that girl, so enigmatic and attracting, but gosh darn it my feelings are just stupid childish things, no reasoning to it at all. I've come to the conclusion that its hormones acting up in my teenage years, curse them for befuddling my thinking. Pretty sure I suppose I'm going to break my regamen and have to indulge myself in more serious relations with the opisite sex, though no one seems for me. Such are the menial problems of a teenager. We are so silly, making big deals over small matters like this... ah... alas.... my problems are silly, and I shouldn't be so worried about this. Its just got me thinking, our my philosophies of life and the doctrine by which I live so strict, and that I deny myself so many things that other chlidren my age indulge in freely, that I'm the one at fault. Perhaps, but for now I'm still thinking...

Well, that party is out of the question for me.... Also, I do think General Clark would've made a great canidate. He is one of the few people who has managed to make their military position slightly political and I'm in favor of generals becoming politicians. They know the effect battle has on a nation, and the effects war has on the mind. However the also know what its like to have a life at home.

I'd have to say over indulgance. General culture of the average american is full of things that are simlpy abused rights and excessive amounts. I don't wish to go into it any furthur, any questions about my opinion I won't answer here.

I must agree (in referance to the gallery in whole), the gallery is rather untidy and should be more organized, perhaps if their was an easy way to view it, like by person who made the entry, then things would be easier.

I know what you are talking about, but due to a ton of practicing I've gotten really good at doing Mathmatics in Roman Numerals. Quite simply, I don't think it bothered them, and it obviously didn't hinder their ability to create fantastic engineering structures. I beleive they simply thought "we have made among the greatest achomplishments in the world, such as our armies, our structures, our politics and culture. All using our number system. Look at the countries that use other systems, we conquered them, if not in military terms, we beat them in an architectural and cultural sense. Why use their number system when ours works perfectly fine and doesn't hinder our capabilities"

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHA! That would be my Social Studies teacher. He COMPLETELY fails to accept that people were incredibly smart 2000 years ago. He thinks warfare was barbaric and fails to recognize all the strategy behind it. He also HATES the idea of imperialism with a passion, being what I can only describe as a Ganhiaphile or a Satyagrahaist. He also uses things from the anceint world, but since nobody(besides me) has an idea of what he is refering to, it leaves them with acompletely wrong impression of Rome.

Ah, so I am confronted so oftenly now with where I stand politicaly. Of course, like all things there is a history to this, and I beleive I am now beleiving in a form of democratic socialism (by some people's standards) though I have found no political party in existance that matches what I beleive. Well, as far as my political beleifs, they've gone through several phases: 1. First off, I cared nothing for politics. This was as a young child. I lived in the "bubble" of early childhood with little to know exposure to the out side world. I supported my parents as all young children, in being a democrat, though I had little intrest in things at all. I remeber to this day what I said 6 years ago durring the 2000 elections. "So dad, his name is george, like you, does that mean we like him?" and I was so severly disinterested that I thought some one was better becuase of their name. Looking back I understand where I was coming from, back then I was still faintly part of the youth that would become what teenagers are today. Uncaring in general for the "outside" world and had no idea how it affects my life. To summarize, I was a democrat without knowing. If some one had asked me, thats how I would've replied. 2. Eventually I grew more and more fansinated with history. My world war 2 loving friend had influenced me in many ways I didn't realize at the time, also at this time I was agnostic, and I still beleived partialy in that what was going on with the president was a good things, and unexposed to the negative consequences of it for our nation, I half supported the president. Though my thoughts and ideas were overlooked by myself and I considered democrats to be superior without any explanation, such is a common occurence for younger children. So in this case, I was starting to see som evils in what had happened, though also some goods. All said and through, i was still learning about the world. Learning more and more in specific about Rome and WWII. Both are histories full of fantastic good and horrible evil, I also was just begining to have a middle ground between good and evil, and so I had trouble recognizing something. Still, through and through I was a democrat, but influenced by some republican Ideals that made sense to me. 3. My third stage of political development was in 5th and sixth grade. It was then that I was fully capable of realizing good and evil, and was forming my own philsophies on life. Things I could more and more identify with the ideas of people I consider "greats" though my standard of judging is different than some in judging great, becuase "great" implies no meaning of good or evil, and so I took the good asspects from both the good and the evil to form my own philosophies. Learning what worked and didn't work, and how to use that to my advantage. Also learning more and more about WWII and especialy Rome, Rome was my favorite and best subject through and through. Loving all things Roman I indulged my self in it, looked for anything I could find, and read it. Learned from it, watching documentaries in my spare time for entertainment. Absolutely obsessed. Through doing all of this, I came to my current philosphy which is still developing. I came to my beleif that a two party government is wrong, and is not effective. I also came to learn, that a democratic government, can not be overthrown. A person can not destroy a democracy as though they can destroy a regime. I also learned how the Roman republic was a sucessful way of government, and that (through my athiestic policies) that people can be made to beleive anything if taught it from a young age, and that human faith is not divine in any way, and that I bleive that man created god in it's own form (that is argueable) and not the other way around. So that is where I stand now, in the third stage. Now developing my philsophies and working towards my own goals. That is where I stand. Neither with Democrats or Republicans. I beleive in sort of a middle ground of the parties, and a different form of government. So that is where my political opinions are now, and how I got there.

I would like to say "I know what you mean" in this situation, but alas, as a middle school student I don't experiance that type of pressure. How ever I do sympathize for you. Also, might I welcome you to the blogging comunity.

To state my opinion simply, the a government ruled by a Triumvirate is like comunism. It is a great idea in theory, but it is impossible to use practicaly.

HA! If I received the assignment, the moment I read the instructions I would've burst out laughing, then gone completely quite, walked up to the teacher, and explain why I thought it was inapropriate. But on another part of the subject Why did they include that?

I do love his defence of Sextus, but I agree with his philosophy. I also think he was a great politician and lawyer who knew that politicians don't make good generals and therefore didn't become one. I also admire his skills as a lawyer (I plan to go into law)

If anyone knows of contemporary books on these too, I'd like to know. (sorry to use your thread Urus, but I didn't want to waste forum space.) Cicero... of course for me The Roscii family?

To choose one, I'd personaly love to meet Cicero, he has always been a sort of role model to me, I've love to see what his ideas on everything were.

That would be the problem... there is no way to "get to know her" literaly impossible I beleive, trust me, I've tryed.

Yup yup yup, we do get bad ones every few years, Its all becuase south carolina isn't big enough to protect us, of course the outer banks get the worst of it. It ruins tons of hotel businesses....and destroys our lovely light houses, but not to worry too much. When I was a little kid we got hit by some bad one that managed to get farther inland and a tornado was spoted in a county right next to mine, we were all scared.... Not pleasant memories. Don't miss them...

Ha, choose UNC, you'll be in the same town as I am... anyways, UNC is great and comes with tons of nice little things, like a good basketball team (if your interested in that) and a beautiful campus full of town landmarks, as well as the planatarium, yada yada yada. Though incredibly hard to get into, especialy if you live in North Carolina. If you're good, I'd go for it. But if UNC doesn't let you in, flip the nickel and head for Devils, though Duke has a MUCH prettier campus, with a huge park/garden thing. Though since I'm only a middle schooler I can't give you much more than that.

I'm not sure, how ever twins would be even rarer than they are today, becuase twins are often a result of fertility drugs or other things of that type etc. However, I'm sure the Romans simply chose the one born first within the 1 minute or however long for politics and second one along for the military, however I wonder what they'd do with triplets...
