  1. Well,JC got so much power that he eventually got assassinated, don't want to follow that route Germanicus. :lol:Oh, by the way, it seems you are in anonymous mode.
  2. Wait so humans were in North America 125,000 years ago rather than 19,000 years ago. I'm so confused.
  3. Well, just a little extra info for you(from my knowlege of Latin). Novum Castrum literally means New Fortress( or Camp). So I would assume Novum Castrum use to be of some military significance at one point in Roman history if it were to be named New Fortress.
  4. I like your section on the Lares, Manes, and Penates. I couldn't help but notice all the latin words you used. Ursus, my dictionary also shows that Manes and Lemures also meant shades. What made shades such an ominous thing that designated malevolent spirits, if there was such a connection? Oh also, does your sources mention the Infernii, which also means shades but rather means the damned inhabitants of the underworld.
  5. haha, I suppose it would scare me if I was colorblind and at night. hehe
  6. Yes, I get , it was during the period where Catholic priests were being hunted down and so they hood in elaborate places. I admire them for their courage.
  7. I don't know about the spooky part.
  8. Wow, what friggin amazing colors. You sure have been tending the soil and acids well. What kind is it?
  9. Like wow!!! Do you have a huge@** garden of exotic flowers or something Pertinax?
  10. Well if your going to say that crime and poor education is going to bring down the US, then the US might as well be iron-fisted consumerists. The US will rule over its people like a dictatorship and will use means of violence to cut down crime. Violence as sometimes the inevitable answer. Poor Education can be corrected easily, if progress and aid is focused on those of low social income status.
  11. It's probaly M. Aurelius, Septimus Severus, being the ruthless ruler would seem awkward to glorify himself as a Greeklike philosopher.
  12. Professor, Can you elaborate on how it was made possible for Germanic and other pgan tribes to accept Christianity so willingly or easily and what conditions propelled these tribes to consider adopting the Roman traditions? What part of Germanic and pagan cultures made Christianity compatible enough to spread effectively and appeal to or among the masses of pagans?
  13. I'm going to be bias. I say that the US will still be a superpower, still fighting more wars, which from a result, deadlier and far more advanced weapons will be developed and I think the US will end their moratorium on experimenting with nuclear weapons. The environment as we know it will differ among areas, such as in China, it will be so bad because as a growning nation, they will guzzle up so much on gas and the emissions will make living in the packed cities of China, not eco-friendly or human-sustainable. I believe that fuel cell technology will solve the energy problem. (yes, I realize I sound pyschotic, but that's what instantly hit me.)
  14. A millennium has passed, but the massacre is still chilling: a king and queen of ancient Cancuen, over 30 nobles and pregnant women, are overwhelmed by their attackers and murdered with spears and axes. full article at National Geographic
  15. Where is Baetia? Also, is Ardea in Campania.
  16. Are you trying to learn latin my friend. Well, you made two mistakes. Its Graeco-Roma(Greece is Graecus in Latin). Uhm, what's this veritas your talking about, because veritas means truth, fact, and accuracy. Verite is a deponent verb in the perfect tense, vocative case.
  17. Not also to mention that Caesar enslaved a whole tribe and let his men loose on the booty quite a few times.
  18. Well, our site is publicized that much, unless we are. Oh look, we're past a thousand members, thats quite quick.
