  1. Si jubar millium solium statim in caelum exploduerunt ut id simile decorem Dei esset. Mors factus sum, vastator mundorum. Not sure if its a purpose clause or indirect statement or even something else, so don't trust me.I changed the words by the way but with the same exact meaning though.
  2. Well, I'm from a Jesuit school, so we can use it if we want. But some teachers are hardpressed about it because well I don't know, strictly by the book I must say.
  3. You're actually right Primus, but the problem is that the word ipsos means themselves, so it changes the sentence a little bit. As for bbae give me some time.
  4. I'm pretty sure we'll find evidence of earlier conflicts, even if its done by sticks and stones. Seriously though.
  5. Did you know that there is already a company today that can manipulate the genes of the rose to make it blue. I've seen it.
  6. Well then Christianity wouldn't be where it is today because then Constantine wouldn't have made the Edict of Milan wouldn't he. But I'm pretty sure the Eastern Roman Empire would still prosper.
  7. Offtopic:Oh that's right, the Ottomans beat you guys up at Gallipoli. Weren't you guys always paired up with the Canadians though? Just kidding. Well at least today, you guys are in the War on Terror with us (and thankfully in Iraq). Ontopic: I don't there's been any nation that has becomed great without resorting to forceful options. On the road to greatness, there is always opposition. So how do you reach it, you eventually have to "combat" it. Even in concept, the use of force is inevitable.
  8. One major reason why the Romans were so disciplined was because the army life and training demanded it, mainly it was the "centurion" who made that possible. He made them train really hard like actual modern day bootcamp. He was responsible for everything they did, he should be given the credit in my views. As Lost Warrior said, technolgy is another determining factor. Look at what the Romans did to the Gauls when the Romans had actual armor and the Gauls did not. Not to mention that the scutum provided major cover to halt the enemy. About the Neanderthal thing, well I don't know where that theory came from. If it was true, then the anthropologists today wouldn't consider them extinct would they.
  9. I can't really see much use in it. I believe in the old fashion read the sources by actual text, interpret it, and the teacher will tell you the correct information. I don't believe in online teaching unless it was for find information and reputable sources.
  10. I don't really get what's the big fuss with the Anno Domini and Before Christ stuff. I always use those, and everytime in school, I manage to vex some teachers by not using the new acronyms which I find really unnecessary.
  11. Wow, I didn't know what esteemed educated and talented people we have on this board. Sorry Pertinax, but I don't know what you mean again?
  12. Semper means always, but it can be used. But other adverbs that literally mean forever is perpetuo and aeternaliter. Well don't take my advice yet, see what Scerio has to say first,he's the expert. . Isn't there a verbed called consum that means be together?
  13. Oh, I was a bit perplexed that the Germanic gods are exactly the same as the Scandinavians. I'm just wondering where the origin is. Like which culture influenced which, the Germans or the Scandinavians?
  14. Did all German tribes have this sort of polytheism and where was the influence greatest?
  15. Wait, why would you want to use a pilum when you already have one and its pretty useless since most of the combat is gonna be by the gladius? Oh, by the way, I remember seeing some documentary about the positioning of the soldiers, not sure if I'm right. Not specifically, at the front is always the newly recruited or little experienced soldiers. The middle is the enough experience soldiers that is guarenteed to hold the line. The last are always the most experienced and valued soldiers who almost have completed their service and most probably will live. And the reserves are positioned somewhere strategic.
  16. It seems that the Scandinavians and Germans must have had a lot of contact between cultures since the religious beliefs are basically similar.
  17. That is one might good looking locomotive train.
  18. He had enough to power to enforce his will as an Emperor, though. Oh I doubt about that my friend, for the Papal power of excommunication is a very scary and serious danger to any Emperor. (Effectively during that time period, the Medieval age of course)
