  1. Maybe we should all see the Discovery channel documentary on how they thought the Giza pyramids were built and their actual look. Now when they showed what the Pyramid actually looked like, I was like "HOLY...", that thing was such a huge contrast from the desert background with its blinding white limestone(?) due to the sunlight. I mean, the thing looked spectacular, and so greatly different from the one today.
  2. By the way, I think I've found the scenes where the Vestal Virgins are present in the movie. I have the pictures in the gallery.
  3. Actually Sahelanthropus Tchadensis is the oldest, or better known as the Toumai man of 7 million years.
  4. Thanks Ramses, now I just need to know a bit more other schools in New York.(California doesn't look that promising to me). Oh yes, can someone tell me about Marist?
  5. I know I'm a junior, but its important that I have a sense of direction so I can discuss it with my conselor and SAT/ACTs are coming, even though most schools don't deem great importance among them. What I found out is that almost all the schools look at primarily the kinds of classes(challenges) you took at which level and most importantly your GPA or grade. Another important factor is the recommendations from counselor and teachers. Looking to the future, I'm thinking about majoring in Law to become a lawyer, but I also have the options of engineering/designing, and even medical. All those classes of Latin, Greek, Ethics,....blah blah electives sure prepare me, something I credit the schools reputation to be true. My school today just had a college night, and since Loyola Academy has good prestige, we got almost all the know colleges and universities, including all the military ones. However, I thought my parents only wanted me to stay instate, so I went only for a few interstate but mostly innerstate, Northwestern and University of Chicago. The shocker was when I got home, my parents talked about moving either to the Northeast(preferably Penn.) or to California, and it happens I wanted to go either region for school, problem was I didn't bother to pay attention much to those schools in that region. The only one that looks interesting to me was Marist College, which I'm sure is a good school. So forum members, can you tell the good schools in the Northeast and midatlantic or in Cali that I may look at. By the way is Marist a good school.
  6. If the alleged Roman and Bellamy salutes were pre-Nazi, why should they be "awful"? The same goes for the swastika, which actually meant "luck." It also is still in use today for mainly Buddism.
  7. I wonder if it holds true for Hitler, because he sure has some good quotes.
  8. ConigDoTnhhuh(I used upper case for the names) hohoidntuchng(Lowercase altogether) I hope that is better, I'm really bad at directons. Is it me is it that these scrambled letters are not set in stone since I put my lowercased names again and I got ogtionhchnhdu Felicitas Bona Nepilla Herena
  9. &nbspo gDho nhnCuiTh Not sure what exactly is the exact letters. Do I include the &.
  10. Whatever so, I believe what his Holiness said was correct about the deplorable jihad. Only the ignorant are not able to realize the flaws of their own religion.
  11. &nbsphgutno &nbspnihhc &nbspdo Note that I've put up my full name including the middle. Dein Flavius masculinus est. Hmm..not matter, I will still stay Flavius Valerius Constantinus
  12. Your Death Till Us Part picture is a favorite of mines by the way.
  13. My World history teacher taught that the Spartan society had this little requirement, that the mothers of soldiers demanded they bring back their swords and shields every time from battle, to make sure they fought to death or be victorious since when you lose, you would drop a the heavy stuff.
  14. I've heard this story long ago...but it is so sad that it takes 8 and a half years of suffering for her. But she does look very healthy.
  15. The Croc hunter is gone now...that only leaves me with Jeff Corwin. I hope he does not befall the same fate.
  16. I didn't believe my mother when she said Steve died...damn! And it was just so unlucky that he got killed by the stingray through the heart, just so rarely to happen.
  17. OOps...Helena...right Anyways, I meant Constantine was as close as you can get to a Christian imperator for his time period.
  18. He was a pagan for most of his life until his vision, though he still remained pagan(for political reasons) until shortly before his death, he was converted and baptised into Christianity. However for most of his life, you betcha he acted more like a Christian than a pagan, as close as you get. Another thing, you can say for all of his lfie, he was a Christian thanks to his Christian mother Helena and he was also like his father, tolerating Christians. So his life was essentially connected with Christianity, especially when you live in the Eastern half of the Empire alot.
  19. I would basically launch the 20th crusade on Dan Brown. Seriously, I would burn the bʔok like the Nazi's. Just kidding, all I know is that the Catholic Church is the most reformed and ever changing Church in parallel to a volatile society. Our past is controversial as is any other story of power, however in the present, people do whatever they want.
  20. Holy, I've never thought it was possible.
  21. I'm a junior too, but not as dramatic about school... Awesome finally other people my age. Me, Ramses, and you.
  22. If finding textual sources is this horrible...would you allow legitimiate online resources that usually are .edu(which basically means colleges and universities).
  23. Hmm...your topic Primus actually seems a little complex if you consider it a simple sample. But good start though.
  24. So would I, if someone more knowledgeable doesn't want it. Some more ideas: One for Pertinax, a thread about Roman medicine! Julius Caesar's role in paving the way for the conversion from Republic to Empire. The religious structure and practice in Ancient Rome (another subject near and dear to my heart) Care and feeding of Gladiators (needs a better title than that, lol but I couldn't resist) Those are all great. Pertinax will no doubt lead the Medicine topic. Lost Warrior fancies Roman Religion and Gladiators. But I still suggest a topic on The transition of Republic into Empire, what were the main circumstances, events, and key players.
