  1. Someone has to pay off the 12 trillion national debt that reegan and dubya put on our backs. I already gave at the office. The neopathetics can pick up my burthen. I wonder how many government pensions rummy-baby is going to walk away with? BTW, if you want more boots on the desert, join up. Its 8.4 trillion by the way, whether or not if you intentionally said 12 trillion, I don't know. But looking at the state of our economy, I don't see any major harm because I do believe that lower taxes do spur more growth. About the spending, oh sheesh, the Democrats always had a history of excessive spending, way more than this Republican party.
  2. link to article Sure, I understand you're atheist, but you're still a friggin American citizen and that means the US government needs your loyalty. I wish I can send these asinines on a rendition to Egypt. I hope I don't offend anyone, but I'm so piss at the level of radicalism these days. And for Christ's sake, it's a damn pledge upon which men died defending and upon which immigrants that became naturalized like my family would gladly defend. I sure as hell don't take this for granted.
  3. Aye...the Dems in power...I will be in so much more misery now because their moderates in the party have no voice. Soon I'll be seeing tremendous tax hikes and subpoenas. Who knows, they'll the way left liberals might just even approve constitutional rights for terrorists.
  4. So are we finally going to get a major increase in troop numbers, something I've been wishing for ever since.
  5. I must say, I enjoyed every episode, especially Tiberius Gracchus' episode. Oh also, the guy who played Nero is amazing, I've never seen such a performance. As for Caesar, his style of speaking seems mesmerizing.
  6. Hmm...here's where I'm going to apply my ethics class lessons. The objectivism here tells us that we all are working towards one goal, or telos, which is giving/getting justice. However, relativism and objectivism together tells us that we have the same goal, but different methods of achieving, the ethical relativism aspect Oh wells, I for one am happy this genocidal bastard is getting the noose and the issue of the death penalty shows us the difference between Europe and America.
  7. Yay...the Discovery Channel is having a special feature on Roman Emperors....and it's not like those crappy History Channel ones... Link to website Here's the episode guide: Episode Guide Oh, It begins tomorrow on Sunday in America.
  8. Although Latin is still not spoken in American Churches, it is still dominant in the Catholic schools, especially Jesuit high schools, where we have very good Latin programs( also Greek too for some schools like mine).
  9. This man is pyschotic. The pictures this guy drew would need millions of years before humanity would split into two groups because there is only one mutation every 20,000 years and a 100,000 years is just not enough for any major evolutionary stage.
  10. I'm going to give an ethical answer. There has always been one and only one civilization that humanity has only known, and it is just the race of mankind itself. Whatever different cultures that had 'evolvled,' their society still share the same characteristics that might differ in meaning but still the same purpose of progressing the betterment of human civilization.
  11. I'm just wondering, just when the hell has the Geneva Convention ever been useful in the War on Terrorism. Because I sure as heck haven't seen any large benefits projected by any political side or even the media.
  12. So...Atlantis is actually Knossos...and I am very convinced of the proof that they have.
  13. CAIUS MARIUS, I believe your are the fourth ever Austrailian member (?) on this site. Welcome!
  14. Oh yeah, Da Bears. Come one let's go Bears, get ready for the shuffle everyone. Oh by the way where is Ursus, are 't you gonna cheer for the Bears=ursus.
  15. Wish Unrv could be boobytrapped with a counter-virus.
  16. Funny, there was a Discovery Channel documentary that suggested that Columbus was most likely from Catalonia due to his handwriting and grammatical style, not from Genoa.
  17. They just did that to do distract us from the Foley scandal. And it sure is a perfect distraction from here till election day for the Republicans. Now I'm just waiting to see how the Democrats will act.
  18. I was just watching the History Channel Lost World's documentary on Pagans. And so they were talking about Stonehenge...next thing I found out from the guy...Oh yeah, just to the northeast is Woodhenge-literally the same basic design as stongehenge but made of huge pieces of wood/lumber. Supposedly: Stonehenge- represents death to the pagans Woodhenge- represents life to the pagans. Another one nearby is Silvery Hill= 18,000,000 man hours to build. Built four and a half thousand years ago and took 700 men for 10 years to build. Just a big manmade hill of earth. An engineering feat actually. Then there is Avery-largest stone circle in the world nearby. Then also nearby is also the Santuary pagan site and also West Kennett's Long Barrel...all of them big also. Here's the interesting thing, all the sites are very close to each other with Silvery hill in the center of Sanctuary, Long Barrel, and Avery. Supposedly Silvery hill is the place to signal for all the sites to start pagan rituals simultaniously. Silvery Hill also might actually had a chalk covering back then instead of grass. Then there is Mavery Castle, not an actual castle but the largest hill fort in Britain= oppidum, which the natives were fighting over all the time until Rome conquered it thanks to the ballistas. All these things are in Britain by the way. Too much to explain...but damn...now I hear about these things!
  19. Oh sure, it's fun to wake up to hear that the fracking N. Koreans detonated their little nuke.
  20. The only grammatical thing I find very discourage in English is discerning between a participle and gerund. Unlike Latin whose forms are easy to distinguish, english confusingly just uses -ing for both. Oh by the way, here's a fun word: SWASHBUCKLER - kind of person who is adventurous like Indiana Jones. Damsel in distress (pretty common but fun to use)- A woman(or maybe soft men) who needs aid.
  21. Hm...that might be just my answer. Seriously, we see this happen with the simple example with Lacedaimonians kai Athenaios. Though those Greeks can withstand the Persians, they couldn't just live with each other= major weakness.
  22. I believe Tyre is where Alexander the Great tried and successfully besieged and plundered the port city, in which all the survivors were burned/killed because they all were seeking refuge in a temple(?/name). As for Troy, oh it does exist, some German rich guy found it, but it turns out that the city was really much smaller than exagerrated in the story. Oh, it was found in Asia Minor. My teacher says the population most likely was at least 3,000 inhabitants. Oh those Greeks sure love hyperboles of Troia. If you search online, you will most likely find sources and info.
  23. Hmm...I just got this book at Borders and so far, it seems like a good read. Because I seriously feel like a tourist in Rome. Has in one read this book yet? Oh yes, when I'm done, I shall write a review.
  24. Sorry, I don't get it. So the shadow of the cup makes Square B the same shade as square A......? I just don't see any revelation
