Centurion Marcus Valerius is the hero of "No Roads Lead to Rome" and the alter ego of the saga's author.
"No Roads Lead to Rome" is a quixotic saga steeped in humor and history. The tale pits an inept governor and his shadowy advisor against an stoic centurion and a young rebel committed to change the course of history. All are pitted against the Gods, the Emperor, and the decline and fall of nearly everything in 123 A.D..
