  1. At some point I may have to make it to Britain lol. You guys have all the cool stuff!! ::cries::
  2. If I told you the real reason you might think I'm crazy So lets just say, it fascinates me. Especially the cultural stuff, how people lived and worked, the religion, the various knowledge and technology. I am especailly interested in Roman medicine (thanks to Pertinax )
  3. LOL ever played "Skittle hockey"? It's a short lived game. Somebody always eats the puck
  4. Lol there's really not what I want to do around here where I'm at. I just can't move away just yet So I have to deal for now I'm one of those people that puts up with anything though. Not sure why, lol.
  5. Thank you! I love them, especially how the background image (which I made myself) stays in one place and the rest of it scrolls, making it look like the forum is floating I'm considering putting in a "cover page" on a free server, where I may post articles and such, have a chat, etc. Though I'm not there yet
  6. So, I woke up the other day with this crazy idea in my head that I wanted to build a webforum. Mind you, I already had two webforums. I simply enjoy building them As luck would have it, I was having a problem with the admin panel on my one forum, and tech support was ignoring me (it was a function that I *really need* that wouldn't work). I had wanted to move to Proboards anyway (Proboards is AWESOME), but I was worried about moving again, because the first time I moved Hidden Worlds it was a fiasco. But I made the switch. Currently I'm glad I did (if you are interested in spirituality or new age stuff, Check it out). Now I'm trying to figure out how to get more traffic. To avoid it being as much as a fiasco as it was last time, I've decided to leave both the old and new forum up for a while, so I am currently running both at the same time. I got another idea in my head, to try composing music on the computer. Now I've had a song in my head for almost a year, but I can't figure out the notes to write it. I found this neat little program called Psycle, and it seems to have great capabilities to do what I want to do. The thing is, I have no clue how to use it. So it's becoming a pain in the butt I did learn something though, Techno is just a bunch of random notes and funny sounds. Now THAT I can do!!! I called the place I put in a job application at, and not only had she lost my application, but she hadn't bothered to look for it yet! (I mean, come on, if you don't want to hire me, just say so!) This is worrisome, because this particular place is *rediculously* short staffed AND has a reputation for hiring anyone who walks in the door. So I got an application from a couple of other places, filled them out, and took them back. One is only hiring night shift, but that's cool, I'm a total night owl
  7. Lol I have no real interest in starting my own business. Actually, I dispise business. I'd rather work for someone That doesn't mean I wouldn't get a business partner or something, and let them handle the "business" end of it.

    Roman dentistry

Oh that's weird. Did those brass things go under the gums?
  9. Lost_Warrior

    Roman dentistry

Looks like he has braces! What are those things on his teeth?
  10. OH, it's an abortion tool. Makes sense than. Modern medicine has a thing that is used to aid in birthing which is also used to grab the head. It doesn't have teeth though. Looks kind of like two giant salad spoons
  11. I think I've seen ludus.org already And I found your gallery posts
  12. That looks like it would cause brain damage with those teeth... Do you know what the other things are?
  13. Lost_Warrior

    Cataract removal

Ew, ok, you know what my response would be? "I'm not that blind yet. Come back when I can't see the thing you're going to poke my eye out with, then we'll talk" what are the other things in the picture?

  16. Lol I'm just finding this now, can you tell I don't come in "Coliseum" often? ::clicks the link:: [edit] ::sigh:: if only they were in America. I might have to move to Britain!

    Sun Chariot

Thank you! Do you notice the iridescent glaze? Man I love that stuff!
  19. "tiny piano"? Interesting name lol. Ok, I'll look it up. Thanks! [edit]what does it do? How does it work? is it a music composing mixing program or does it simply turn your keyboard into a piano? I can't even play a regular piano...
  20. I'm bored, lol and as you have probably figured out I'm dangerously creative when bored. (I'm also considering doing a complete overhaul of my forum...again...but at least I do have a logical reason and that is that my forum's admin panel is broken and I'm getting *no help* from tech support.) I got this idea last night to try composing music on the PC, and I know there are several free programs out there, but I have no idea where to start? Which ones are good, which ones not so good, which ones will crash my compy.. Any ideas?

    leg wound-"after"

I see. That's very interesting (and good to know). All I could think of was the horror stories of people having gauze left in them at hospitals I suppose the real key, besides the honey, is not suturing the wound. If it were closed up tightly, the outcome would be much different wouldn't it?
  22. Lost_Warrior

    leg wound-"after"

Why leave the dressing in? Was it to be removed later? One would think that putting a dressing *inside* the wound like that would impede healing if not cause a serious infection
  23. I'm sure they knew how to fix dislocations (they'd have to have), and I'm fairly certain that Romans had chiropractors (after a fashion) so I'm sure they were in the army as well. (it doesn't take a "rocket scientist" to crack a back or set a broken bone...with some instruction even a child can set a broken bone) Sulphur is a great antibiotic. [edit] I'd imagine injured muscles, ligaments, and tendons were common in training and battle. I'd imagine too, that stress fractures were common, especially in the feet ("march fracture")
  24. True, but how much does it take to cross the line from the hard working person who really wants the job, to the annoying nutcase whom they can't wait to get rid of?
