  1. Is this the same Macro in the Eagle series? Macro in the Eagle series is actually pretty cool.
  2. "total resolution" means nothing to me lol. I'm good with computers, but technically dumb.
  3. No it's not him, it's a modern drawing that may very well be based off of that one.
  4. Maybe. The description also said they were nicknamed "oven-men".
  5. Thanks! I've heard of Terragen, never used it. Didn't know it was a free program. Mojo does pretty good, but its not always photorealistic (I'm getting better, with less "plastic" looking stuff). I actually have three pictures of "mistworld" on my bedroom walls now
  6. Things are really starting to slow down at work; this leaves me bored at times, but it's good, because it means I'm not often in a mood to remove people's heads or fling pizza pans as if they were frizbees. My life is finally starting to get "back to normal" so to speak. I've taken up "trance dancing", well not truely "trance dancing" at least not yet. Shall I call it "devotional dancing"? It was weird at first, I was embarassed to actually get up and do anything, so I ended up just sitting on the floor bobbing my head. I'm not embarassed anymore (why should I be? No one is watching!) and I must say, it does feel great to just get my butt off the floor and MOVE. It started out as a religious thing, and still is; but it's becoming more and more of a thereputic thing as well. My friend gave me an image rendering program called Mojo: my first attempts with it were just aweful, and took forever, but lately I've been coming up with some really cool stuff! I'm currently working on a world I started out calling "mistworld", but I'm working on a better name for it. For now lets just call it "Realm of Eternal Mist". I have a folder full of 44 renders of this same world in different views, different lighting, etc. I have become obsessed with it. Tomorrow I hope to go to the library and get a picture of it printed to hang on my wall It's too big for the page, and I'm too lazy to resize at this hour of the morning, so here's a link: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a133/Dan...tworldstars.png I'm still working on the next book in the Eagle series. Not quite the bookworm I used to be. I keep getting distracted LOL but I'm enjoying it thus far. I also updated my Blog for anyone who is interested.
  7. I'll probably wear it. Not to work though, lol. I don't think wearing it will hurt it (if it actually has been in the earth for 2000 years, and if it is a fake, well, no big loss). I won't wear it to work and get Spray Nine on it or something that probably wouldn't be good LOL
  8. My mom surprised me one night with a beautiful ring believed to be a legionary's ring!! (She gave it to me early because she said that having it in her room was giving her nightmares lol). It has some damage (a small hole where the engraver cut too deep or the ring was dented and broke at the engraving line) but other than that, is in perfect condition! Here's what the seller had to say about it: Here you can see the file marks on the inside and the small hole in the ring:
  9. LOL!! I got mine, an early birthday gift from my mom. a legionaries' ring... Will post pictures.
  10. I think the things in the quiver are throwing spears. Nice work!!
  11. Alchohol tastes good, but I have no access to it. Besides, I'm exceedingly uncomfortable at parties, terrified actually that someone is going to get drunk and do something stupid, so I wouldn't drink, I'd be sitting there waiting for an OK time to leave. I spent the night at home. lol
  12. I do not know of the correctness of this, but I once saw a drawing of a clibanrius with a conical helmet (combined with the chain mail it gave him the appearance of an iron starfish actually). I don't remember what book it was in unfortunately, something from the school library and I no longer have access to it.
  13. LMAO was that PC gone horribly wrong? Or rediculous misinformation?
  14. Lucky bastard jk lol I live in a small town with nothing like that around.
  15. Haha we own our house. No renting for us. I've never lived in an apartment.
  16. Um...the what? lol Is that something you have when you live in an apartment or something?
  17. Congrats!! I hope you love your baby as much as I love mine (of course, I had to go out and run into something with mine  )
  18. This topic will probably always be the subject of debate. The red tunics you see were more than likely popularized by Hollywood, and it's amazing how often movies make it into historical texts. It's possible that red tunics were worn, and I suspect some were, but the basic soldiery probably wore a rough "off white" tunic (the color of unbleached cloth). Red fades, and is difficult to keep looking nice, for one thing. Red dye was also very expensive. It's been speculated that the other colors of tunics belonged to different groups; ie blue for the navy/marines, etc.
  19. Actually the water was running out of the TOP of ours. Well, gushing. LOL. Frozen pipes will cause a drop in water pressure. Or at least semi-frozen pipes. I had that problem alot in the winter at my old house.
  20. Lol EgyptSearch doesn't seem like anything that would interest me, since I have very little interest in Egypt at all.
