I enjoy this show. The only issue I don't like is that it's only 8 episodes. Season finale is two hours long and ends this weekend. I like that anytime I want to watch an episode all I have to do is check out WOW on demand anytime I please for free on my cable. Good show. I hope more historical/fiction like shows follow in the future.

Wow. When this fight is on the internet I will provide a link for fellow posters who missed the fight. HD Version part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piA36PZEp_k HD Version part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkkYkIw5dSc...feature=related Fedor is probably built like an ancient Roman Gladiator. I had this to say on an MMA site sherdog.net. Sorry, they put on extra weight because some extra fat would add a little more protection to themselves. The gladiators needed a layer of fat over the muscles as protection from blows and cuts. Looking "ripped" was not functional. They mostly ate barley, beans and dried fruit. After they won they would probably eat meat for celebration and of course much wine. http://www.sherdog.net/forums/f61/fedor-lo...ml#post34425470

Fedor: Thank you for your passion (and education) about MMA. Most MMA fighters I've seen have a traditional martial arts backgound and show the respect for ones's opponent associated with the martial arts. Unfortunately, many of the fighters with an American wrestling background are more suited for Studio Wrestling. Lesnar, obviously, is no exception. He looks like a steroid-enhanced jerk who deserves to go down hard. guy also known as gaius No problem. Good thread. That Lesnar guy did wrestle in the wwf for a few years. That's why he got a title shot in the UFC with a record of 2-1. He brings in fans from the wwf world. Hopefully Shane Carwin beats Lesnar when they fight. Lesnar sure does act like he has a serious case of roid rage. Man, that does make this sport look odd that a guy from wwf is now the HW champ for the ufc. He needs to go down hard. Carwin might be the answer.

I agree. Hopefully when Fedor is done with his 3 fight M1/Strikeforce contract he joins the ufc and fights Brock Lesnar. I really don't like this Lesnar guy. Did you see what he did after UFC 100? Terrible. After he beat Mir he ran around the ring and flicked off the fans. He also got in Mir's face after he won for no reason after the fight. This video's audio is not all that good. You need to turn in up. Brock Lesnar reaction after fight

Here is the best Fedor highlight. Every single Fedor fight. http://www.sherdog.net/forums/f44/all-fedors-fights-998451/ Fedor's next fight will be on CBS November 7. He is fighting undefeated Brett Rodgers. Rodgers on Fedor. http://mmasportsreport.com/649/brett-rodge...get-knocked-out ^^ I find it really baffling that he's about to face the best fighter in the world and he's only seen 1 Fedor fight from start to finish? Doesn't he want to analyze fedor and his tendencies and to see how he can exploit them? I mean, this is easily his biggest fight opportunity of his career and it seems as though that he's way too nonchalant about it, and to not take advantage of the massive library of Fedor's fights seems to be a bit disadvantageous to the worst degree. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fedor_Emelianenko http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brett_Rogers

http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/...,612718,00.html "Roman engineers chipped an aqueduct through more than 100 kilometers of stone to connect water to cities in the ancient province of Syria. The monumental effort took more than a century, says the German researcher who discovered it. When the Romans weren't busy conquering their enemies, they loved to waste massive quantities of water, which gurgled and bubbled throughout their cities. The engineers of the empire invented standardized lead pipes, aqueducts as high as fortresses, and water mains with 15 bars (217 pounds per square inch) of pressure. In the capital alone there were thousands of fountains, drinking troughs and thermal baths. Rich senators refreshed themselves in private pools and decorated their gardens with cooling grottos. The result was a record daily consumption of over 500 liters of water per capita (Germans today use around 125 liters). However, when the Roman legions marched into the barren region of Palestine, shortly before the birth of Christ, they had to forgo the usual splashing about, at least temporarily. It was simply too dry. Not Enough Oxygen But that didn't stop the empire's clever engineers. They soon figured out a way to put things right. In the former Roman province of Syria (located in modern day Jordan), researchers are currently studying a sensational canal system. It extends mostly underground over a distance of 106 kilometers (66 miles). The tunnel was discovered by Mathias D

Found another source on Severus. http://penelope.uchicago.edu/Thayer/E/Roma...6*.html#75-10.3 "As the Parthians did not await his arrival but retired homeward (their leader was Vologaesus, whose brother was accompanying Severus), he constructed boats on the Euphrates and proceeded forward partly by sailing and partly by marching along the river. The boats thus built were exceedingly swift and speedy and well constructed, for the forest along the Euphrates and that region in general afforded him an abundant supply of timber. Thus he soon had seized Seleucia and Babylon, both of which had been abandoned. Later, upon capturing Ctesiphon, he permitted the soldiers to plunder the entire city, and he slew a vast number of people, besides taking as many as a hundred thousand captives. He did not, however, pursue Vologaesus, nor even occupy Ctesiphone, but, just as if the sole purpose of his campaign had been to plunder this place, he was off again, owing partly to lack of acquaintance with the country and partly to the dearth of provisions. He returned by a different route, because the wood and fodder found on the outward march had been exhausted. Some of the soldiers made the return journey by land up the Tigris, and some in boats." For Galerius it is much harder to find that he did capture Ctesiphon if he did at all. The only real info I found was that he seized Narseh's camp, his treasury, his harem, and his wife. Must of been rather scary for the wife. Since Galerius seized the treasury, harem and the wife, I assume he did capture the city. I will continue to look for good sources. http://penelope.uchicago.edu/Thayer/E/Gaze...KURARM/18*.html "Fortunately for the Armenians, Galerius, following the strategy set by Diocletian, was able to reverse the tide. With Trdat reconnoitring, he led a new army through Armenia, while Diocletian himself held the passage of the Euphrates. On this occasion, the story was different; Narseh was wounded and he and his army put to flight, leaving his tent and family at the mercy of the conquerors."
